One of the nicest weekend breakfast spots I have come across in Brasília — especially for families — is Cantina Dolce Mamma at the Centro Hípico Lago Sul.
What makes the place different is not just the food, but the whole atmosphere around it. Instead of the usual busy city brunch scene, you are surrounded by trees, horses, open space, and children running around happily exhausting themselves while parents finally get a chance to sit down and breathe for five minutes. Which, for parents, is probably the real luxury. 😄
The riding center itself is one of the main equestrian clubs in Brasília and offers horse-riding lessons for both children and adults. So it is very common to see kids completely losing their minds with excitement after spotting the horses.
On weekends, Cantina Dolce Mamma serves a large colonial-style breakfast and brunch buffet with breads, cakes, fruit, juices, cold cuts, cereals, and enough food to guarantee nobody leaves hungry.
There is also a huge outdoor playground and lots of green space, making it one of those rare places where children can run around freely without parents constantly having to say “don’t touch that” every 30 seconds.
The atmosphere is relaxed, informal, and very family-friendly, which explains why it has become quite popular with both Brazilians and expat families living in Brasília.
And honestly, any place where adults can peacefully eat while children disappear into playground chaos for a few hours deserves recognition.
