It is part of the worldwide AEFE network (Agence pour l'enseignement français à l'étranger) and follows the French national education curriculum. Belonging to this global network allows children to be educated from kindergarten to the baccalaureate, from one school to another and from one country to another. In addition to French, Portuguese, English and Spanish are taught. The school welcomes students from kindergarten to high school. Unlike most Brazilian schools, the school year starts at the end of August and ends at the end of June as in North America or Europe. Students start school at 7.45am. Primary school students finish at 2.50 pm and secondary school students have classes until the end of the day (maximum 6 pm depending on the level). In both primary and secondary schools, extra-curricular activities are offered after school until 5 or 6 pm. The monthly fee is approximately R$ 38,000 per year plus an initial administrative fee of R$ 6,000 payable on first enrolment. The school is characterised by its values of humanism, tolerance, and secularism. In particular, critical thinking is developed. This is a really great tour - you'll learn not only the layout of the city and the history of why it's been done that way, but also get to see all the big monuments and best architecture. I would really recommend this tour if you have family or friends visiting. You'll learn so much about the city, and your guests will feel like they actually know the city. I recommend this product. Ricardo, the owner, is a very helpful guy and will do everything to help you. They restore everything that needs upholstery, and they have a vast selection of different materials and patterns. And if you have one of these faded umbrellas in your backyard they will come to your house and give you a quote to clean and dye it or replace the whole fabric. They also do all the work to remove the cover and put it back on. The prices are very reasonable, the turnaround time quick and the work is very professional. Our new location is now at SHCS 415, relocating from CLS 116. The Queen’s Place is a British inspired restaurant with locations in Asa Sul and Lago Sul. The décor makes you believe that you are in England and not Brasilia, especially at the Lago Sul location with the large greenhouse structure. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and they are also famous for their afternoon tea, which is served from 15:00 to 18:30. One of the favorite dishes are the fish and chips and their selection of cakes and pastry is very good. The service can be a bit slow at times and it can be expensive, but the atmosphere makes it worth it. In 2012, former members decided to revive the RSF with athletes who had already played in it and athletes living in Sobradinho. Initially, the training was in groups; players from Sem Fronteiras trained and participated in Brasília. The men's team of Rugby Without Borders is a three-time champion of the Copa Central Brazil Rugby, popularly known as Pequi Nations, and two-time winner of the Cerrado Cup of Rugby XV, being crowned champion of the Cerrado Cup in 2017 at Mané Garrincha in Cuiabá-MT, related to the title of Pequi Nations 2017. In addition to sevens stages in the years 2015 and 2016. Brasilia Rugby Club trains on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 pm. When visiting the Living Museum of Candanga Memory, we can feel like we are on a journey through time. The settings, objects, and photos present at the site commemorate the beginning of the Brazilian capital, a city created from the dream of Juscelino Kubitschek. And it's because of JK that the history of the space becomes even more interesting. Before becoming a museum, the site housed the Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira Hospital (HJKO), a space created to meet the demand in the Federal District, not only for injured workers in the construction, but also for other services, such as childbirth and outpatient care for children and homemakers. It was a complex of 23 wooden buildings that remained a hospital and support complex until 1974, when the District Hospital (now Hospital de Base) was inaugurated. The space remained standing, and in 1985, by decree 9,036, the Government of the Federal District established the landmarking of the house complex, allowing the restoration process of the space. On April 26, 1990, the site was reopened and inaugurated under the name of the Living Museum of Candanga Memory (MVMC). Administered by the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy (Secec), the Living Museum is situated between the Administrative Regions of Candangolândia and Núcleo Bandeirante. Along a picturesque avenue adorned with simple, vibrant houses and surrounded by fruit trees, the museum's setting exudes a lively charm. As they say themselves, their kombi was “the most charming kombosa that runs through the four corners of the square (even if it squeaks) to cheer up the soul of cattle and humans!” Their beer created such a following that they moved into a factory building in SOF Norte in Asa Norte, where they set up their microbrewery. They invited other microbrewers to sell their products and Corina as it is today was born. Corina is only open Friday nights, Saturdays from 11:00 to late and Sundays from 11:00 to 18:00. It has live bands most of the time, a big screen where they show important, or not so important, sporting events and is family friendly. And they are proud that they are a bit wacko and do not take things too serious. One can also buy different beers in “Graulers”, that is a 1 liter container, to take away or you can order them online for home delivery. Most people head there after they picked up their luggage and head to the pickup spots marked A, B or C and once they arrived, they call an Uber via the app. Now it is not uncommon that while you walk to the pickup spot you will be approached by a person claiming that they are an Uber driver and are ready to take you to your destination for a set price. Well, that set price is way over what a real Uber driver would charge you. It’s a scam. DO NOT ACCEPT RIDES WHEN YOU ARE APPROCHED IN THE BRASILIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. Besides paying a higher price for the ride, you are also very vulnerable to be robbed of your possessions or worse, especially if you are female. So if you want to take a Uber, or another rideshare company, from the airport, always book your ride through the app. The app will tell you the make, model and license plate of your booked car. Il Basilico is famous for their pastas, especially the carbonara, and their steak tartar with walnuts, capers and truffle oil. If you are looking for pizza, well they don’t have it on the menu at all, but there is a pizzeria just around the corner. And on weekends you will have the chance to listen to some live bands as well. The quality of the food is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. And the plan was to have neighborhood clubs in each of these quadras, serving as a meeting place and leisure area. Well, that was the plan – but it never was put into action. The only neighborhood club that was put into reality was Clube Social de Unidade Vizinhança nº 1, serving the community in the super quadras 107, 108, 307 and 308 in Asa Sul. Clube Vizinhança, founded in 1961, is a huge neighborhood club that not only offers sport and recreational areas, but also has grill areas, kids play areas, a ballroom, restaurants, a beauty salon, a fully equipped gym and of course several swimming pools. And they have a huge sauna as well. And if you like your pizza with a thin crust, this is the place to go. The pizza dough is made from scratch by Alexandre, using only high quality ingredients and the toppings are locally sourced, supporting the local community. The service is very friendly and efficient, the prices are very reasonable, and Fabiola and Alexandre are more than happy to have a friendly chat with you. Another great thing about Pizza do Quadradinho is that you can buy the wine by the glass, so you don’t have to pay for a whole bottle if you only feel like a glass. Also, if you are not very hungry you can order half a pizza as well. If you are after whitegoods and electronics, there is a large selection of outlets that sell everything from fridges, stoves, freezers, small kitchen appliances, and entertainment equipment.
