Right across from the Pão de Açúcar at the entrance of Lago Norte—tucked into the right-hand corner as you roll into the parking lot—you’ll stumble upon a charming little hideaway called Casa Proa Bar.
It’s a small spot with a cozy, intimate vibe, the kind of place where you instantly feel at home. Prices are refreshingly friendly (a 600ml Spaten for just R$13.50!), and the food is surprisingly delicious. Do yourself a favour and try the chicken-wrapped-in-bacon espetinho served on a bread roll (you must order the roll separately, but it’s worth it).
Oh—and don’t skip their homemade chilli sauce. It’s genuinely excellent.
All in all, Casa Proa Bar is a delightful little gem, perfect for a relaxed, inexpensive night out with friends.
